Iraqi minister lauds successful Arba’een ceremony

The Iraqi Interior Minister, Mohammed Salem al-Ghabban, has described the successful management of the millions of pilgrims of the Holy Shrine of the Third Infallible Heir of Prophet Mohammad (Blessings of God upon him and his progeny), Imam Hussein (Peace be upon him), mourning Arba’een, the 40th day after the anniversary of martyrdom of Imam Hussein and his 72 steadfast companions, as a source of honor and pride for the Iraqi government and nation.

According to IRIB World Service, the Iraqi interior minister issued a statement on Saturday noting that if it wasn’t because of the solidarity and cooperation of people, Iraqi state-run organizations, and pilgrims, such an honor would have never materialized.

The Iraqi Premier, Haidar al-Abadi, had also previously lauded the successful management of Arba’een ceremony in the holy city of Karbala.
